THE DETAILS

Trace the fault. Restore the connection.

Salt air and vibration are hard on boat wiring. Corroded connections, failing charging systems and mystery battery drains are some of the most common problems we see, and some of the most frustrating for owners.

We trace the fault methodically, fix it properly and leave the wiring cleaner and better labeled than we found it. We also repair and rebuild anchor windlasses, one of the hardest-working electrical systems on board.

SIGNS IT’S TIME

When to call us.

  • Batteries go flat between trips
  • Gauges read wrong or flicker
  • Lights or pumps work only some of the time
  • Windlass is slow, noisy, or won't raise the anchor
  • Breakers or fuses keep tripping

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Your questions.

Why does my boat battery keep dying?

Common causes are a parasitic drain, a failing alternator or charger, an old battery or corroded connections. We test the whole charging system to find the real cause.

Can you rebuild my anchor windlass instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. Worn motors, gearboxes, seals and solenoids can be rebuilt or replaced individually. We assess the unit and tell you whether a rebuild or a new windlass makes more sense.

Can you add new electronics to my boat?

Yes. We can wire in new instruments, lighting and accessories so they're fused, protected and tidy.

PLANNING YOUR SERVICE

Start with when it happens.

Tell us whether the fault appears at the dock, while running or after the boat has been sitting. Note which lights, instruments or pumps are affected. For a windlass problem, include the unit’s model and what happens when you press the control.
